SACRAMENTO - The Moment of Impactprogram shows the violent aftermath of a crash due to someone's bad decision behind the wheel.
The program is in partnership with the Elk Grove Police Department, the Sacramento County DA's Office and the California Office of Traffic Safety.
Officer Misty Dailey visits local schools and community groups with the message that accidents and tragedies are avoidable and while nobody sets out to kill someone on the road, distracted driving and bad decisions behind can lead to fatal incidents regardless of intent.
The wrecked car that is part of the current presentation is from an actual fatal accident in Folsom from January 2012 that killed two brothers from Citrus Heights. They were hit by another driver and that received a 9 year sentence behind bars.
